It's not all drills and exercise regimes at DTKD! There's always something fun on the horizon – Ninja Nights and holiday “lock-ins,” pizza parties and pot-luck family events. Though it's not always just “fun and games,” we also host a variety of competitions, tournaments, and other competitive events to give students opportunities to show off how hard they have been working on their martial arts, as well as a multitude of specialized clinics to hone those skills outside of regular classes. Just about every month you'll find something exciting happening at DTKD!

Students are always curious how they can advance in rank. At DTKD we provide regularly scheduled testing for advancement, a clear set of goals for all students, and instructors dedicated to student improvement.

Board Breaking

Board Breaking

Just like receiving a black-belt, students who start taekwondo all want to break boards! At Desoto Taekwondo, students achieving sufficient rank and success get to do just that; in fact, it's a requirement before receiving certain belts! With dedication and focus, discipline and 100% effort, advanced students become board-breakers, showing off their practiced skills at testings, clinics, and with persistence and dedication, one day as black-belt assistant teachers themselves.
